Make a splash this summer - or any sunny day in Brisbane

Okay Brisbane - we know you love a good splash! Whether it's a hot summer's day and you're looking to cool down, or you need to get the kids out of the house to burn some energy, we've got 22 Council pools ready for summer fun.

In the last year, more than 3.3 million people had a dip in one of our Brissy public pools. It's not surprising when you think about our pools' fantastic facilities, including water play areas, aqua fitness classes, swim squads and barbecues.

If you didn't visit a pool, aqua park or water play area in the last year, check out the reasons to visit one in 2020.

Kid-friendly slides and sausage sizzles

Sunny days in Brisbane evoke images of poolside fun, ice blocks and plenty of sunscreen. Grab a lounge or a shady spot to watch the kids as they play in a pool or water play area.

If you're looking for a venue for a kid-friendly party, our pools are ideal. Try a pool-side barbecue with family and friends. Some 'big kids' will probably join the kids in pool play fun.

Want to try a new pool? Visit the recently upgraded Langlands Park Memorial Pool or Sandgate Aquatic Centre, or let the kids cool off at Runcorn Pool's new wading pool and water play pad. Musgrave Park Pool is scheduled for completion of its upgrade in mid-2020.

I like to move it, move it

The days of laps-only pool fitness are long gone, with Brisbane pools now the place to be for aqua classes, inlcuding deep water aqua running and aqua yoga. (Dont worry, we won't make you do downward dog on the bottom of the pool.)

Staying active and healthy is easy with our great range of free or low-cost water-based classes to keep you moving. We have classes for everyone - all abilities and fitness levels. Our pools are accessible for people with disabilities.

If you like swimming laps, check out the squad swimming and stroke development options at your local pool.

Swim back in time

Forget time as you float in the historic Centenary Pool in Spring Hill. Gaze up at the modernist building and diving tower, designed by prominent Queensland architect, James Birrell, for 1959 centenary celebrations.

Alternatively, find old world charm at heritage-listed Spring Hill Baths. This venue is home of Brisbane's first in-ground pool built in 1886, with classic changing rooms and grandstand seating.

Take the dive

Ready for a dip? Pools are a great low-cost activity for the whole family.  Find out everything you need to know about a pool near you.
