Brisbane Metro, part of a greater transport network - video transcript

Brisbane City Council is getting you home quicker and safer.

Brisbane Metro will be a key part of Brisbane’s greater transport network, connecting the city to the suburbs.

New Metro services will run along dedicated busways and link with suburban bus and train services. Rather than hundreds of buses travelling into the city, they’ll link with high-frequency Metro services. That means more available buses for the suburbs and less congestion in the city.

You’ll get home up to 50% quicker with Metro services running every three minutes in peak and 24 hours on the weekend.

A better planned network will make it easier to travel. Some bus services will continue to the city, and others will link with turn-up-and-go Metro services.

Stations will be upgraded with real-time travel information to help you plan your journey.

New high-capacity Metro vehicles will include Wi-Fi connectivity and mobile charging. All-door boarding and a low floor design will mean faster journeys and less time waiting.

It’s all part of Council’s plan to get you home quicker and safer with more travel options, less congestion and a greater public transport network.
