The Active School Travel (AST) program and Cycling Brisbane have been working together to deliver bike skills training at local parks near AST schools. Everton Park State School, Wooloowin State School and Enoggera State School have all participated in the Wheely Fun and Riding with Confidence programs.
Wheely Fun helps young riders transition from training wheels to two wheels and provides parents with tips on how they can keep encouraging them. These weekend sessions are perfect for families who are not sure how to teach their children to ride and want them to properly learn this important skill.
Riding with Confidence takes kids through riding-based games and fun activities to learn the skills needed to have fun off-road and on the bikeways. This program is offered to riders aged 8 to 12 years who already know how to ride a bike.
Cycling Brisbane’s free bike training sessions take place during the school holidays and on weekends. For more information, visit and book online.
