New AST schools in 2019

Children walking to school Brisbane

We are thrilled to announce the 18 new schools that have been successful in joining the Active School Travel (AST) program in 2019.

AST will celebrate its fifteenth year in 2019, which makes this the biggest and longest-running program of its kind in Queensland.

We look forward to working with the following schools in 2019:

  • Acacia Ridge State School
  • Brookfield State School
  • Cannon Hill Anglican College
  • Christ the King Primary School, Graceville
  • Darra State School
  • Grand Avenue State School, Forest Lake
  • Islamic College of Brisbane, Karawatha
  • Junction Park State School, Annerley
  • Newmarket State School
  • Sacred Heart Primary School, Sandgate
  • Sherwood State School
  • St Ambrose’s Primary School, Newmarket
  • St Anthony’s Primary School, Kedron
  • St Kieran’s Primary School, Brighton
  • Stretton State College
  • Wooloowin State School
  • Yeronga State School

If you’re a parent of a student at any of these new AST schools in 2019, welcome to the program! The school will soon start recruiting for AST committee members. The committee should include a mix of school representatives and may include your principal, deputy principal, teachers, parents, chaplain, student leaders and of course, your AST officer. Contact your school if you would like to be part of the AST committee to help arrange fun events and encourage active travel.
