Schools share innovative ways to collect weekly active travel stats on time.

Getting weekly active travel surveys back from classrooms can sometimes be a frustrating process with so many competing priorities.  Both Aspley State School and Brisbane Christian College (BCC) at Salisbury have introduced innovative ways to ensure surveys are returned on time.

Aspley State School reward the first teacher to return their survey form with a Coffee Club voucher each week. Brisbane Christian College also encourage their teachers to return their active travel surveys on time by providing a lucky dip to the first teacher to submit their statistics on the school’s active travel day. The winning teacher can choose from chocolates and other treats for their prompt survey action. As a further incentive, the teacher of the class with the highest percentage of active travellers is also rewarded each week.

Big thanks to all teachers for gathering those vital active travel statistics each week. How do you encourage your teachers at your school?
