Brisbane City Council has installed new LED lighting along the Edenbrooke bikeway link between Monier Road and Ashridge Road in Darra.

About the project

The Ashridge Road Bikeway lighting project is part of Council's Better Bikeways for Brisbane program. Council is creating dedicated bikeways and active travel options with a $100 million investment.

Council is continuing to install lighting in key sections of the broader bikeway network to enhance safety. This will improve the amenity for all pathway users and minimise traffic congestion. These upgrades will encourage increased walking and cycling in Brisbane.

Council identified this section of the bikeway for lighting upgrades to improve safety in the community.

Project benefits

 The project has improved visibility which will assist all pathway users to safely move through the area.


Construction commenced in late April 2019 and was completed in late August 2019.
