Noble Street pedestrian bridge removal - Wilston
Brisbane City Council is undertaking investigation works on the northern side of the Noble Street pedestrian bridge to inform the project's concept design for the stage 2 scope of works.
|Address||Noble Street, Wilston|
|Project outcomes||Removal of the Noble Street pedestrian bridge|
|Latest update||Investigation works for stage 2|
About the project
In April 2019, Council completed the stage 1 scope of works to remove spans one and two of the Noble Street pedestrian bridge superstructure. Removal of the spans is required due to deterioration of the bridge's structural components and public safety concerns.
Survey and investigation works will involve potholing for public utility service locations in the road reserve, as well as in the waterway under the bridge.
These works are expected to take approximately two days to complete, weather and site conditions permitting and will be undertaken during a two-week period from late July 2019. All works will be completed between 7am to 5pm Monday to Friday.
Residents and businesses close to the bridge may see surveyors onsite. A temporary footpath diversion will be in place on Granville Street to assist pedestrians and cyclists.
