About the project

The roundabout at Bracken Ridge Road and Barfoot Street was replaced with a new signalised intersection. This is part of the Department of Transport and Main Roads (DTMR) and Australian Government’s Gateway Upgrade North (GUN) project.

Council installed the U-turn facility on Bracken Ridge Road between the service road and Barfoot Street on behalf of DTMR.

Works to construct the U-turn facility included:

  • removing trees in the centre median
  • removing and replacing a section of footpath on the southern side of Bracken Ridge Road
  • extending the existing stormwater drainage
  • road pavement construction
  • asphalting and line marking.

Works began in November 2018 and completed in early December 2018.
