The project  video shows drone footage with animations to highlight the two design options (Option A and B) for the Moggill Road and Coonan Street intersection upgrade at Indooroopilly.

The project video shows aerial footage of the Moggill Road and Coonan Street road corridors at Indooroopilly, highlighting the current intersection as a semi-controlled roundabout. The image shows connecting rounds, including Indooroopilly Shopping Centre to the south. The project video then shows the roundabout looking inbound towards the city, and labels Moggill Road and Coonan Street.

The project video shows a birds-eye view of the roundabout facing south-east, and shows design option A – T-intersection. The current roundabout is overlayed with the design features, including installing new traffic lights to control all movements along Moggill Road and Coonan Street, new landscaping in front of Indooroopilly Central, and the dedicated turning and through traffic lanes on approaches to the intersection. The project video also shows that Moggill Service Road will be retained, and highlights dedicated bike lanes and additional footpaths around the intersection.

The project video then shows an aerial image of the intersection facing north, with an overlay of option A design features and extent of the project works. Access changes at connecting streets are highlighted with call-out boxes, including removing the left turn movement from Moggill Road into Payne Street to improve safety and traffic flow, removing right turn movements from Stamford Road onto Moggill Road, removing left and right turn out movements from Nelson Parade onto Moggill Road, and making the Keating Street and Coonan Street intersection left in, left out only.

The project video then shows design option B – Overpass. Facing north, the current roundabout is overlayed with option B design features, including constructing an overpass for Coonan Street traffic that will allow Moggill Road through traffic to flow freely. The image shows new traffic lights at the Coonan Street road bridge and the entrance to Indooroopilly Central, dedicated turning lanes on Moggill Road and Coonan Street, new landscaping and traffic islands to separate vehicles, and providing dedicated bike lanes and additional footpaths around the intersection. The Moggill Service Road is removed, to accommodate the new road bridge.

The project video then shows an aerial image of the intersection facing north, with an overlay of option B design features and extent of the project works. Access changes at connecting streets are highlighted with call-out boxes. Option B includes changing the access to left in only at the Moggill Road and Nelson Parade intersection. This is required to accommodate the new road bridge, and remove potential conflicts for road users exiting Moggill Road to turn right onto the Coonan Street overpass. The left turn access from Moggill Road into Stamford Road will be removed to improve safety, as vehicles merging from the Coonan Street slip lane onto Moggill Road will be accelerating in close proximity to this intersection.

Option B also includes changing access at the Keating Street and Coonan Street intersection to left in, left out, and removing the left turn in movement at the Moggill Road intersection with Payne Street to improve traffic efficiency and safety for the free-flowing traffic on Moggill Road. Road users who previously used Payne Street to access local streets will need to use Nelson Parade, Waverley Road or Rokeby Terrace.
