About the project

Council identified Algester Road near the intersection of Beaudesert Road in Calamvale as an area that would benefit from works to revitalise and upgrade the existing streetscape.

This project is part of the Lord Mayor’s Greener Suburbs program. Council's Greener Suburbs program aims to improve the clean, green feel of locations across Brisbane through increased tree planting and installing subtropical boulevards along our arterial roads to enhance the liveability of our neighbourhoods. Shady and attractive streets are an important part of the unique character of Brisbane’s suburbs and our outdoor, subtropical lifestyle.

The works resulted in the revitalisation and beautification of the area by undertaking feature plantings and minor works to the centre median. Council planted predominantly native plants to enhance a subtropical theme, and undertook selective pruning, transplanting and removal of existing vegetation.

Council would like to thank the community for their patience while we completed this important work.
