Main Street Boulevard project - Kangaroo Point
Brisbane City Council is pleased to advise that work is complete on a new landscaped garden at the junction of Main Street and Shafston Avenue at Kangaroo Point, as part of the Main Street Boulevard enhancement project.
The Main Street Boulevard project is a street enhancement project taking place along Main Street, from Vulture Street to the Bradfield Highway at the Story Bridge.
The project is enhancing the streetscape by planting water-wise, shade -producing street trees and new gardens.

Work started in January 2020 on a new landscaped garden at the junction of Main Street and Shafston Avenue, Kangaroo Point and was completed in April 2020.
A large feature White Fig is the feature point of the garden. The top side of the garden along Shafston Avenue inbound features five of Brisbane's iconic hoop pines.
The new feature garden on the traffic island includes:
- 15 new trees, including the large feature fig tree
- new garden beds and plants
- architectural landscaping.
