Paid parking zones, meters and fees

To Pay by App for a parking session on your mobile device, you will need to register with Council’s contracted mobile payment provider, CellOPark Australia. You can register by downloading the CellOPark app (Apple Store and Google Play), visiting the CelloPark Australia website or phoning CellOPark Australia on 07 5646 5222.

Brisbane City Council uses paid parking zones across the inner city to regulate parking where on-street parking is in high demand. Short to medium-term parking meters operate in areas where turnover of on-street parking spaces is necessary. Paid parking spaces are available for both cars and motorcycles.

15 minute free parking

Council offers 15 minute free parking for customers who are parking for 15 minutes or less only. To be able to use the 15 minutes free option customers need to register their parking session either at a parking meter or via Council’s Pay by App service. If you don’t register your parking session, you could receive a fine.

Changed parking in Petrie Terrace

From 16 September 2022, Council implemented changed parking conditions in Petrie Terrace.

Find out more

Changed parking conditions:

  • Three-hour pay-by-app parking between the hours of 9am and 4pm, Monday to Friday on the eastern side (right kerb) of Petrie Terrace. This area was previously free four-hour restricted on-street parking. Please note a clearway operates at this location 7am to 9am and 4pm to 7pm, Monday to Friday.
  • Removed 27 metered on-street parking bays on the western side (right kerb) of Countess Street and installed a temporary bus zone. The bus zone will be in place for at least 12 months.

These changes have been made to support essential bus services connecting the northern suburbs to the CBD for the duration of Brisbane Metro construction and improve parking options in the inner city.
