Taringa residential parking permit area

Taringa is well known for its parklands, car dealerships, entertainment and social venues, and transportation facilities. A residential parking permit area has also been created to ensure residents living close to Moggill Road can still access on-street parking.

If you live within the Taringa residential parking permit area, you may be eligible to apply for a parking permit. A limit of one resident and one visitor permit applies for this area.

Residential parking permits allow residents to park unrestricted on the street in their area, with certain conditions.

Future residents will be ineligible for residential parking permits if they reside in a multiple dwelling, apartment or student accommodation that was approved as a result of a development application lodged after 19 March 2017. Instead, developers, buyers and renters within new developments have a responsibility to ensure they have sufficient onsite parking to meet their needs.

Permit holders:

  • must clearly display their permit on the left hand side of the vehicle's windscreen or dashboard
  • are able to park in approved streets listed on the permits which are signed 'resident permit excepted' (with no time restriction).

Permits do not allow residents to park in designated statutory restricted areas, such as:

  • clearway zones
  • loading zones
  • no stopping zones
  • bus zones
  • taxi zones.
