Botanic Garden Riverwalk project fly-through video - supporting information

This page provides supporting information for the Botanic Garden Riverwalk project fly-through video.

The animated fly-through video shows the Botanic Garden Riverwalk detailed design, released in August 2018.

The fly-through shows a map of greater Brisbane and the Brisbane River with surrounding suburbs and key locations highlighted including the Goodwill Bridge, QUT, City Botanic Gardens, Story Bridge and the Botanic Garden Riverwalk.

The fly-through shows an aerial view of part of the Botanic Gardens near the Alice Street and Edward Street intersection. The fly-through then highlights Alice Street and Edward Street, and key locations including the Gardens Point Boat Harbour, the new Riverwalk, Bunya Walk, a viewing platform and a proposed future River Access Hub.

The flythrough travels to the eastern end of the Riverwalk and tracks along at eye level showing cyclists and pedestrians cycling and walking along the Riverwalk’s separated shared path.

The flythrough changes perspective and shows people standing on the viewing platform conversing and standing near the entrance to the proposed future River Access Hub connection ramp.

The fly-through changes direction and tracks west along the Botanic Garden’s Bunya Walk revealing the Botanic Gardens Riverwalk on the right. The flythrough shows cyclists and pedestrians along the Bunya Walk, and people cycling and walking along the Botanic Gardens Riverwalk in the background.

The fly-through changes perspective showing an aerial view of the Riverwalk from the western end showing people cycling and walking. It highlights where the existing stairs and the existing cannon are located along the Bunya Walk. The flythrough tracks along and then highlights the existing lower path that exits Bunya Walk and leads toward the river.

Still tracking east along the Riverwalk toward Alice and Edward Streets, the fly-through highlights the existing connection to the existing river walkway converted to pedestrian only.

The fly-through changes perspective again, tracking from the western side of the Riverwalk along the river footpath and heading east. The flythrough shows people sitting on a park bench and people walking along the footpath underneath the Riverwalk toward the existing stairs leading down from the Bunya Walk.

The fly-through changes to show an aerial perspective from the eastern end of the Riverwalk showing the roundabout at Alice and Edward Streets, the pedestrian only connection to the Riverwalk, with the Riverwalk, the Garden Point Boat Harbour and the proposed future River Access Hub in the background.

The fly-through changes to show an aerial perspective from the western end of the Riverwalk above the Gardens Point Boat Harbour and proposed future River Access Hub with the shadow from the trees extending out over into the river indicating evening. The scene changes to show lights along the proposed future River Access Hub with people standing at the hub and tending to boats. It also shows people walking and cycling along the Riverwalk’s shared path.

The view changes from night back to day showing a final overall aerial view of the Botanic Garden Riverwalk.
