About the project
Brisbane City Council is planning to upgrade the footbridge within Meadowbank Street Park, Carindale.
The existing structure is a steel truss bridge with a grooved decking no longer preferred by Council. The supporting pier has corroded and the foundation is becoming exposed due to creek flow. Upgrading the bridge to a Council preferred structure will ensure the current standard for public safety is met and will enhance usability for pedestrians and cyclists with a widened crossing point and reduce ongoing maintenance costs.
Council will continue to engage with local residents and businesses as the project progresses and more information is available.
Council expects detailed design to be completed in mid-2018 with construction anticipated to be undertaken from late 2018, weather permitting.
