About the project

Brisbane City Council will be undertaking investigation works in the area surrounding the Noble Street pedestrian bridge in Wilston.

The Noble Street Bridge was closed to pedestrian access in 2009 due to the deterioration of its structural components and public safety concerns. Council is planning to remove the bridge as the structure is no longer serviceable and an alternative bridge is located approximately 80 metres to the west.

Investigation works will include topographic and environmental surveys, geotechnical investigations and testing, and the identification of public utility service locations.

Residents and businesses close to the bridge may see surveyors on site and some potholing may also be required.

Project timing

Council plans to undertake these investigation works intermittently from mid August to late October 2018, weather and construction conditions permitting.

Council is committed to keeping local residents informed and will provide more information regarding construction impacts to the community as the project progresses.
