Whitmore Street improvement project - Taringa
Brisbane City Council is pleased to advise that construction of the Whitmore Street improvement project at Whitmore Street, Taringa will start mid-November 2018, weather and construction conditions permitting.

About the project
The Whitmore Street improvement project aims to enhance the corner of Whitmore Street and Westerham Street in Taringa by improving the overall amenity, safety, accessibility and identity for local residents and businesses.
Works will include:
- widening the street corner
- removing the current concrete path and installing new exposed aggregate concrete
- kerb and channel works
- installing new tree, garden beds and minor street furniture.
Impacts during construction
Every effort will be made to minimise disruption to local residents and businesses within the area and vehicle and pedestrian access to all shops will be maintained during this work. Where temporary footpath and driveway closures are required, detours and signage will be in place to direct pedestrians and cyclists.
Works will begin mid-November 2018 and are expected to be completed by early January 2019, weather and construction conditions permitting. Construction will take place between 7am to 5pm, Monday to Friday, however some weekend or out-of-hours works may be required. Council is committed to keeping the community informed of construction in their area and will provide advance notification of out-of-hours activities.
