Roma Street Parkland events
Roma Street Parkland covers 16 hectares in the heart of Brisbane and is open to the public 24 hours a day (apart from the Spectacle Garden which is closed from dusk to dawn). The parkland offers visitors with spectacular horticultural display of subtropical plants, a children’s garden and playground and a full events program. Pathways and toilets are wheelchair-friendly in the lower parkland and disabled parking is available. Free deck chairs (as part of the Chairs2Share program) are also available.

Guided walks take place at 11am and 1pm daily (except for Good Friday and Christmas Day). Join one of our enthusiastic volunteer guides as they bring to life the history and horticulture of the Parkland. Walks depart from The Hub.
The Parkland Explorer will not be operating on 21 and 22 October due to the Brisbane Mexican Festival 2016 taking place in the parkland.
On Sunday 23 October, the train will operate in the morning only from 10am to 12.30pm due to the Brisbane Zombie Walk.
Jump aboard the Parkland Explorer - this trackless train provides an alternative to guided walks and usually operates Wednesday to Friday from 10am-12.30pm, and Saturdays and Sundays from 10am-3pm.
During school holidays, there are extended hours, with the train operating Monday to Friday from 10am-12.30pm, and Saturday and Sunday from 10am-3pm.
A gold coin contribution into one of the colourful collection boxes on each carriage assists our volunteers in keeping the Parkland Explorer running.
If you are travelling to the parkland specifically for a trip on the Parkland Explorer, please contact Roma Street parkland prior to your visit as operating times may have changed due to the weather or other unforeseen circumstances.
