This three-day Signature Event of Brisbane celebrates Australia’s harmonious diversity, providing visitors with a wonderfully rich and memorable experience resulting from the vibrant cultural fabric that thousand’s of years of Asian history and traditions has to offer.
Spread throughout the greater South Bank precinct, the festival runs as an accredited climate friendly event and is now recognised as the southern hemisphere's most sustainable major event.
200,000 visitors, 1,000 volunteers, 400 performers and 180 events are helping to make this family friendly Festival Queensland’s biggest birthday celebration and the largest annual commemoration of Buddha’s birthday in the world.
If seeking more than getting up close to traditional Chinese Lion Dancing, visitors can partake in a little reflective time with some Tea Chan, Meditation or participate in one of the many informative discussions on Buddhism.
Entrance to the Buddha Birth Day Festival is free and open to the whole family.
