Dr Scott discusses his journey to the Antarctic aboard the ecotourist ship Ushuaia and his novel The Ice Ship –based on his adventures and the gripping history of tall ships and whalers in the Antarctic waters. When the steam - auxiliary whaler Australis is trapped in Antarctic ice, the Captain stays with the ship as his crew attempt to escape over the ice.
