Naksha, an untold odyssey
Museum of Brisbane recently welcomed Artist Piyali Ghosh as Artist-in-Residence from 15 July to 8 August. Piyali is interested in the contradictions and transformations between traditional decorative motifs and abstract forms.
During her residency, Piyali’s works focused on the conceptual design of motifs used in traditional Indian textiles, specifically the motifs used in West Bengal’s hand woven Baluchari Sarcee textiles. These works will be shown at Museum of Brisbane through the exhibition, Naksha, an untold odyssey.
