'Priceless Treasure' by Yin Lu
5:30pm to 10:00pm
In celebration of this year’s Brisbane Chinese Festival, Council will be projecting Yin Lu’s artwork Priceless Treasure onto the William Jolly Bridge from 22–26 January 2020, from 5:30–10pm each night.
Yin Lu is a Brisbane-based Chinese Australian artist, who graduated from QUT in 2018 with a bachelor’s degree of Fine Arts, majoring in Visual Arts, and is currently a postgraduate student at UQ studying Master of Primary Teaching.
Lu’s practice is influenced by her Chinese background resulting in bold and contrasting artworks using ink and acrylic. She uses iconic Chinese foods and creatures in her artworks to engage the viewer.
Brisbane Chinese Festival coincides with the Chinese New Year 2020, activating King George Square and Queen Street Mall on Saturday 8 and Sunday 9 February 2020. This festive occasion brings Brisbane to life with traditional Chinese culture including music, dance, firecrackers, puppetry, lanterns, markets and more. Brisbane Chinese Festival is supported by Council’s Multicultural Festivals Program.
