About the project

Works within the car park included:

  • upgrading lighting to improve safety
  • reconfiguring the car park to improve circulation, safety, and access
  • resurfacing the car park, including new line marking.

In order to complete these works, five trees within the car park were removed. These tree removals will be offset in accordance with Council's offset planting policy and relevant environmental guidelines. Three new trees were planted in the car park as part of the works.

Project timing

The car park was closed when works commenced in mid-January 2020 and reopened in late February 2020. Final works to install the new lighting poles were completed in March 2020.

Council thanks local residents and Brisbane Powerhouse patrons for their patience and understanding during these works.
