One of our Brisbane Vision 2031 themes is an ‘active, healthy city’. Brisbane City Council provides hundreds of diverse, free or low-cost and accessible recreational opportunities through our active and healthy programs.

Council recognises the Queensland Government Companion Card for any Active Parks, Chillout, GOLD and Gold ‘n’ Kids events/sessions that incur a fee. This allows free participation for anyone accompanying a person with a disability who requires attendant care support.
Plan your next exercise session in a local park. See which Council parks have exercise facilities available for you to use.
Join a local Heart Foundation Walking group to boost your fitness. If you don't want to walk with a group, try one of our Council walking trails.
Looking for a fun way to stay active with friends? Find a local tennis court near you and play a round of singles or doubles.
Learn how to play golf under the guidance of a PGA professional or enjoy a round of putt putt at Victoria Park.
The Growing Older and Living Dangerously (GOLD) program provides free or low-cost activities for Brisbane's senior residents.
