10 Wilson Street is a true family story with a twist, centred on a house in the Brisbane suburb of West End in the 1970s and 1980s. It is a tale of love, loss and intrigue that follows Brigitte from the final stages of the Second World War in Germany, to the Greta Migrant camp in New South Wales, and through a rocky family life in Sydney and Townsville. It is a tale of perseverance and never giving up hope, as Brigitte flees the drunken rampages of her husband John, finally making a home in West End.
As things settle down for Brigitte and her family, she gets the news that after 16 long years apart, John is near death’s door. Will she take him back?
Join David Luhrs as he discusses the people and stories behind his book, 10 Wilson Street. Books will be available for purchase on the day, or bring your copy from home for David to sign.
