City Project Office's community facility projects are some of Brisbane's most innovative and modern public places. Achievements include:

District playgrounds
With a budget up to $1.5 million, Brisbane City Council has an ongoing program to build playgrounds in Brisbane suburbs.
Playgrounds are developed in consultation with:
- community
- child play specialists
- designers, artists and artisans
- safety and risk assessment officers
- playground suppliers
- playground maintenance inspectors
Libraries
City Projects Office is experienced in the delivery of public library projects. Designs include innovative ideas, such as:
- incorporating the latest technology
- providing comfortable and creative interior spaces
- providing stimulating learning environments
Aquatic centres
City Projects Office has delivered three new aquatic centres at Mount Gravatt, Runcorn and Colmslie. The centres include:
- open and enclosed pool facilities
- sustainable design including best practice water and energy efficiency systems
- best practice design standards for access by people with a disability
- efficient, year-round pool operations
Brisbane foreshore parklands
City Projects Office has revitalised the Wynnum-Manly eastern foreshore and the Sandgate-Shorncliffe northern foreshore. The $24 million budget project included:
- turning 12 kilometres of old parkland into quality landscapes
- improving facilities and connections
- providing a range of activities
From the Australian Institute of Landscape Architects, the project:
- won the 2008 National Landscape Architecture award for planning and received a special jury citation for leadership in urban planning by local government
- won the 2009 State Landscape Architecture award for design
