Brisbane heatwave warning

The Bureau of Meteorology has issued a Severe Heatwave Warning expected to continue until Friday 29 December.

Residents are advised to closely monitor those around them who are most at risk in extreme heat conditions such as children, the elderly and people with a chronic condition or illness.

Bring your pets indoors or ensure they have shelter and plenty of water.

Close your windows and draw blinds, curtains or awnings early in the day to keep the heat out of your home. If available, use fans or air-conditioners to keep cool.

Stay safe in warm weather by:

  • Keeping out of the heat
  • Drink water regularly
  • Stay as cool as possible
