About the project
To support residential growth in Macgregor, and in response to findings in the Mount Gravatt Corridor Neighbourhood Plan, a new park was planned in Bedser Street.
The new park provides the growing residential community with a much-needed green space, shady spots to have lunch and enjoy the outdoors, as well as areas for recreational and community activities.
Bedser Street Park will contribute towards Council's commitment to creating new lifestyle and leisure opportunities by enhancing the park network to respond to a growing and changing Brisbane. The creation of the local recreation park is just one of the many ways Council is growing your Brisbane lifestyle.
Community engagement
Community consultation was undertaken from 18 October to 8 November 2021 to help develop the draft concept plan. Further consultation on the draft concept plan was undertaken from 11 April to 2 May 2022 to inform the final concept plan.

New park features include:
- exercise equipment
- imaginative and informal play areas
- kick-around space
- picnic shelter
- bubbler
- pedestrian pathways
- bin enclosures
- seating.
Construction impacts
Works will take place between 6.30am and 6.30pm Monday to Saturday, weather and site conditions permitting. Vehicle access to the site will be from Bedser Street via the maintenance gate. Access to areas of the park will be restricted and fenced off to ensure construction is completed as quickly and safely as possible.
Residents nearby the works may experience some noise, dust and general construction noise during works. Please be assured that Council will use environmental controls and make every effort to minimise disruptions during these works.
