Supporting information - Construction Lane Closures map - Coonan Street

The map is facing north and shows six intersections, Moggill Road with Coonan Street, Moggill Road with Nelson Parade, Moggill Road with Stamford Road and Moggill Road with Payne Street as well as Connan Street with Keating Street as well as Belgrave Road with Connan Street.

The project will upgrade the intersection of Moggill Road and Coonan Streets by removing the existing roundabout and replacing this with an overpass over Moggill Road. Works will also include upgrading the existing Moggill Road service road to connect to Coonan Street overpass with Moggill Road with new signals shown in red. This will allow for the free flow of vehicles travelling east or west on Moggill Road.

At the western side of the project site, new pedestrian signals, shown in red, will be installed on the northbound side of Stamford Road with left turn access from Moggill Road maintained. The existing pedestrian crossing on Moggill Road will be relocated nearer to Nelson Parade and access from Nelson Parade into Moggill Road will be closed. Additionally, a new bus stop will be installed east of the Stamford Road and Moggill Road intersection.

Works also include changing access at Keating Street to remove the right turn in and out to improve safety and changing access at Payne Street to remove the left turn in.

Entry and exit points to Indooroopilly Central Shopping Centre will be reconfigured. Further information about the final configuration will be provided in future updates. New pedestrian signals, shown in read, will be installed on Coonan Street near the driveway for Indooroopilly Central Shopping Centre to improve pedestrian connectivity.

The intersection of Belgrave Road and Coonan Street in Indooroopilly is located at the southern side of the project site. The project will upgrade the intersection by adding a signalised right-hand turn and U-turn pocket from Coonan Street (southbound) into Belgrave Road. The existing left-hand turn from Belgrave Road into Coonan Street will be signalised. A new bus stop will be installed north of the the Belgrave Road and Coonan Street intersection.

Shared pedestrian and cycle paths, shown in blue will be constructed throughout the project site.

New traffic islands, shown in yellow will also be installed at intersections through the project site.
