Cavendish Road intersection upgrade - Coorparoo

Link copied

We’re planning to make changes to improve safety at the Cavendish Road, Holdsworth Street and Kitchener Street intersection in Coorparoo.

We’re planning to install traffic lights with pedestrian crossings and permanently close Kitchener Street at Cavendish Road, creating a cul-de-sac. This will improve safety for everyone and better manage how the intersection operates.

The features of our concept plan include:

  • installing traffic signals at the Cavendish Road and Holdsworth Street intersection with signalised pedestrian crossings
  • closing Kitchener Street at Cavendish Road and creating a cul-de-sac
  • formalising traffic lanes at the intersection with line marking and signage
  • upgrading and installing new footpaths and kerb ramps, road pavement, stormwater gullies and landscaping.

This upgrade is funded by the Australian Government as part of the Roads to Recovery Program and Brisbane City Council.

We’re working to finalise the design for this upgrade.

Once this is complete, we’ll share this with you and provide more information about construction timeframes and impacts.
