Council is committed to delivering technology that enables equitable access to information and services for all users.

This commitment supports our vision for an inclusive Brisbane.  

Web Content Accessibility Guidelines  

The Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) define internationally recognised practices for improving accessibility. These guidelines describe different levels of accessibility outcomes to support a broad range of user needs.

Council considers these guidelines in the design, development and maintenance of its website. Accessibility practices are incorporated to support usability and access for a wide range of users.

We aim to apply accessibility practices to support compatibility with assistive technologies, such as screen readers, and to improve usability for a wide range of users. Accessibility is reviewed and enhanced over time as part of ongoing improvements.

File formats 

We aim to make downloadable content available in formats that are broadly accessible.

Some documents, however, such as scanned or archival files, cannot be made fully accessible. If you require any information on the site in an alternative format, contact Council.
