Cubberla Street pedestrian improvements - Fig Tree Pocket
We’ve improved pedestrian safety and connectivity on Cubberla Street at Jesmond Road in Fig Tree Pocket.
Our Road Construction Minor Traffic Density program aims to improve and enhance the safety, functionality and overall quality of Council’s road network with minor improvements
Improvements for this project included:
- installing a pedestrian island and kerb build-out to make crossing the road easier and safer
- building a footpath, to improve pedestrian connectivity
- constructing a new kerb and channel to formalise the corner of Cue Street and support drainage
- minor landscaping works, including the removal of two trees and turf installation
- better lighting with 1 new streetlight near the intersection
- new line marking, including yellow no stopping lines.
