Downfall Creek is an important local waterway that flows through our suburbs and into Moreton Bay.

This project will help restore a healthier, more natural waterway that supports the surrounding environment and improves the park for the community.

Works will involve:

  • removing sections of the existing concrete channel
  • reshaping the creek with natural materials such as rocks and logs
  • landscaping and planting native vegetation along the creek and surrounding areas
  • temporary site setup, including fencing and access for machinery.

The project is funded by the Australian Government’s Urban Rivers and Catchments Program.

Works are expected to continue through to early 2027, site and weather conditions permitting.

During construction, residents and park users may notice:

  • machinery operating within parts of the park
  • temporary fencing and managed access around the work area
  • increased noise and activity during standard work hours
  • some tree removal and vegetation trimming required to safely deliver the works.

Access through the park will be maintained where possible, with traffic control and detours in place to keep pedestrians and cyclists safe. The dog park will also remain open throughout construction.
