Eagle Terrace pedestrian improvements - Auchenflower

Link copied

We’re completing pedestrian connectivity on Eagle Terrace at Cue Street in Auchenflower.

Our Road Construction Minor Traffic Density program delivers minor improvements across Council’s road network. It aims to improve safety, functionality and overall road quality.

Improvements for this project include:

  • installing a pedestrian island and kerb build-out to make crossing the road easier and safer
  • building a new wide footpath, to improve pedestrian connectivity
  • constructing a new kerb and channel, to formalise the corner of Cue Street and support drainage
  • new landscaping, including 6 new street trees, a garden bed and turfing along Eagle Terrace
  • formalising on-street parking.

  • Late May 2026: Construction is anticipated to start.
  • Late June 2026: End of construction, weather and site conditions permitting.

Works will take place from mid‑May to late June 2026, subject to weather and site conditions. Work hours are 7pm to 5am, Sunday to Thursday.

These works will take place at night when traffic volumes are lowest. This approach helps keep workers and road users safe and minimises disruption.

As we’re working near a rail bridge and the road is narrow, part of Cue Street will be closed. The closure applies to vehicles travelling from Lang Parade to Eagle Terrace during work hours. Please follow the detour via Camford Street underpass. Access will remain from Eagle Terrace to Lang Parade via Cue Street with traffic control. All access will be reinstated during the day.

If you live in or are travelling through the area, you may notice:

  • increased noise, dust, vibration and vehicles
  • changed traffic conditions, including footpath and lane closures, and reduced speed limits.
  • traffic controllers and signage onsite.
