Fig Tree Point Park pathway lighting project - Lota

We installed lighting along the shared pathway in Fig Tree Point Park to increase safety and improve amenity for users.

Council installed 6 new lights along the shared pathway in Fig Tree Point Park. This pathway is part of the Moreton Bay Cycleway.

This work extended existing pathway lighting to improve visibility for people walking and riding between Outram Street and Coolana Street, Lota.

Works included: 

  • open trenching, tunnel boring and vacuum excavation to install light pole foundations, conduits and electrical pits
  • installation of LED luminaires and poles
  • electrical cable works
  • turfing.

The project was jointly funded by Brisbane City Council and the Queensland Government's Cycle Network Local Government Grants program.

  • Mid-May 2025: Start of works.
  • Late June 2025: Project completion.
