Fortitude Valley Sustainable Growth Precinct Plan
Fortitude Valley is one of Brisbane’s most popular destinations and we’re planning to revitalise the precinct for locals and visitors.
About the plan
The Fortitude Valley Sustainable Growth Precinct Plan will create an exciting long-term vision for the area, focusing on how we can renew the precinct and harness the opportunities presented by the Brisbane 2032 Olympic and Paralympic Games.
The plan will aim to:
- facilitate housing choice and diversity
- improve connections to places and destinations
- leverage opportunities in the lead up to Brisbane 2032 and beyond
- enhance cultural and creative experiences
- support Fortitude Valley’s rich character and heritage
- support vibrant streets, laneways and public spaces
- boost the 24/7 economy
- create thriving precincts and mixed-use communities.
We will use technical investigations, community feedback and Queensland Government feedback to develop the plan.
Once it has gone through relevant stages, including community consultation it will be adopted into Brisbane City Plan 2014 (City Plan) and used to guide and assess property development.
It’s about striking a balance to boost the local economy, leverage Brisbane 2032 Games opportunities and encourage more housing and diversity while protecting the area’s rich history and local lifestyle.
