Hamilton Road, Western Avenue intersection upgrade - Chermside
We’re installing new traffic lights and crossings at the Hamilton Road, Western Avenue and Staib Road intersection. The upgrade will improve safety for all road users.
We are currently at the preliminary design stage for the upgrade of the Hamilton Road, Western Avenue and Staib Road intersection in Chermside.
The proposed upgrade is focused on improving safety for all road users. New traffic signals at the Hamilton Road and Western Avenue intersection will manage all traffic movements and provide safer access to the hospital precinct.
The project will also improve pedestrian safety and connectivity through the installation of new signalised crossings on Hamilton Road and Western Avenue, linking to upgraded footpaths.
This busy intersection currently experiences high traffic volumes and limited visibility, contributing to safety risks for drivers, pedestrians and cyclists.
This project is jointly funded by the Queensland Government and Brisbane City Council.
Council will host two information kiosks for you to learn more about this project and the preliminary design.
