Kedron Brook Bikeway lighting project - Enoggera

Link copied

We are installing lighting along the Kedron Brook Bikeway in Enoggera and Alderley to improve visibility and enhance safety.

We’re delivering new lighting along sections of the Kedron Brook Bikeway. The works will occur through Shand Street Park, between Shand Street and Bauhinia Avenue in Enoggera and Alderley. The new lighting will improve visibility and safety for people walking and riding through this popular active travel corridor.

These upgrades are part of our commitment to providing safe, accessible and connected active transport infrastructure for the community.

These works will involve:

  • installing 32 new light poles with mains powered LED luminaires
  • removing 8 existing light poles with solar powered luminaires
  • underground drilling and vacuum excavating to install light pole foundations, conduits and electrical pits
  • minor tree trimming where required to accommodate the new lights
  • electrical cable works and turfing.

The existing lighting will only be removed once all the new lighting is installed and fully operational.

There may be short delays for pathway users while work is underway. Please follow directions of our site crew to ensure your safety is maintained at all times.

The works will be completed Monday to Friday, between 7am and 5pm, weather and site conditions permitting.

The lighting will be activated once connected to the power supply by Energex in the weeks following installation.

Properties in close proximity to the work may experience some construction noise. Council will endeavour to keep this disturbance to a minimum.
