Lorward Avenue drainage works - Bardon

Link copied

We’re upgrading the stormwater drainage network in Lorward Avenue, Bardon, to improve local flood immunity.

The Lorward Avenue drainage works form part of Council’s ongoing commitment to improving local stormwater infrastructure and building a more resilient, flood‑ready community.

These works aim to:

  • increase the capacity of the underground drainage system
  • reduce the risk of localised flooding within the Lorward Avenue stormwater catchment
  • enhance the overall stormwater network’s performance during significant rainfall events,

To achieve these outcomes, Council will install new stormwater pipes and pits using micro-tunnelling techniques. This method minimises surface disruption while enabling new infrastructure to carry additional stormwater flows to Ithaca Creek.

As part of the project, Council will also secure the property at 37A Lorward Avenue. It is located close to a critical stormwater pipe essential for the drainage upgrade.
