Lutwyche Road and Harris Street intersection upgrade - Windsor

Link copied

We’re in the early stages of planning a potential upgrade to improve safety for all road users at the Lutwyche Road and Harris Street intersection.

The intersection has a history of crashes occurring. These were influenced by heavy traffic, long wait times and poor visibility when turning right from Harris Street into Lutwyche Road.

Following community feedback, we’re now progressing the land requirements and undertaking further technical investigations to finalise the design.

The final design and construction timeline will depend on future budget allocations and city‑wide priorities.

In July 2024, we asked the community to share their thoughts on 3 design options to improve safety at this intersection. All 3 options included removing the right‑turn movement from Harris Street onto Lutwyche Road. Among the options, Design C received the strongest community support.

Design C retains the most existing movements at the intersection. Upgrading the traffic signals to manage all movements will:

  • improve safety
  • make it easier for people travelling to and from the local neighbourhood.
