Melton Road corridor improvements – Nundah

Link copied

Council is undertaking investigations to inform potential future improvements along Melton Road in Nundah/Northgate.

We’re exploring ways to improve safety and ease of use along Melton Road in Nundah and Northgate. The focus is the section between Toombul Road and Walkers Way, especially for people walking.

This road is frequently used to access green spaces, public transport and sporting facilities. It also serves local businesses, homes and travellers heading to nearby suburbs.

As part of Brisbane’s Suburban Corridor Modernisation program, we’ll consider small but meaningful upgrades. These could include:

  • minor intersection safety improvements
  • upgrading pedestrian crossings
  • adding kerb build outs
  • updating line markings
  • improving signage
  • minor footpath upgrades.

We invited your feedback to better understand experiences walking, riding and driving along Melton Road. The feedback focused on the section between Toombul Road and Walkers Way.

Our online survey and pin on a map tool was open from 17 November to 14 December 2025.

We’re reviewing the feedback alongside technical data and design standards. This work will help shape potential future improvements for residents, visitors and commuters.

We’re still in the early planning phase of the project. Any future construction will depend on the progress of the design and the availability of funding.

We expect to be able share what we heard from the community in early 2026.
