A safe, connected boardwalk loop walk for walkers, runners and sightseers.

The 1.5 kilometre Nudgee Beach Boardwalk loop is a popular outdoor experience for locals and visitors. It offers a bayside stroll while enjoying the surrounding wetlands, birdlife and coastline. 

We will be completing works to replace and realign a section of the boardwalk, which has been closed since 2024.

Once complete, walkers, runners and sightseers will be able to enjoy the full boardwalk loop.

From Tuesday 5 May 2026, we will begin works to repair the boardwalk. These works are expected to take around eight weeks.

Works are expected to be completed by the end of June 2026, weather and site conditions permitting.

Contractors will work across both day and night shifts for efficiency and to make the most of limited tidal conditions. Shifts may include:

  • Day works: 7am to 6pm
  • Night works: 6pm to 7am.

Impacts

Works will be managed to minimise disruption to park users. Where possible, access to surrounding park areas will be maintained.

Team members will be onsite in the weeks prior to construction to prepare the area and set up equipment.

The section of the boardwalk will remain closed while works are being complete.
