We’re delivering a new district level sports park at 65 Van Dieren Road in Pallara. The park will support the growing community with quality spaces to play, train and connect.

We incorporated your feedback received during community engagement in 2023-2024, alongside technical investigations, to shape the final concept plan. Construction is underway from mid-November 2026 to early 2028.

This project is a long-term investment in local liveability. The park will bring residents together to play sport, stay active and enjoy green open space. It provides a welcoming place to connect close to home.

The original concept included 2 playing fields and an area reserved for a future third field.

We're excited to now deliver all 3 playing fields as part of the project, as well as other community sport and recreation features, including:

a clubhouse with public amenities, creating a central hub for players, families and visitors
on-site parking and dedicated bus drop off to make access simple
sports lighting and irrigation to support evening use and quality playing surfaces
welcome open green spaces and an area for a future playground and picnic facilities site.

Late 2025: Release final concept plan.
Mid-2026: Early works.
Mid-November 2026: Start of construction

We’re starting construction on the new Pallara District Sports Park from mid-November 2026.

To keep everyone safe during construction, the entire park will be closed and fenced throughout the work.

If you live in or are travelling through the area, you may also notice:

increased vehicle movements, construction activity and noise during work hours
minor traffic changes on Van Dieren Road, including stop go traffic control when trucks are entering and exiting the site.

Vegetation

We’ve worked hard to reduce the impact on existing vegetation as much as possible. While up to 11 trees will be removed, the work will be supervised in consultation with a qualified arborist.

As part of the project, we’re planting more than 150 new trees providing greenery and shade for years to come.
