Link copied

Council has released a concept plan for Pallara District Sports Park.

We engaged with the community to prepare a concept plan to ensure that sports, recreation and open spaces continue to meet the needs of the growing Pallara community, while protecting the natural environmental values.

The plan proposes construction of recreational and sporting infrastructure including:

  • sports fields
  • carpark and bus drop off
  • future playground area
  • clubhouse with public toilet facilities.

As Pallara and surrounding areas are continuing to grow, it is important to ensure that sports, recreation, and open spaces continue to meet the needs of the community.

This project reflects Council’s commitment to enhance and maintain more than 2180 parks across Brisbane. These parks encourage residents to get outdoors and enjoy the city’s unique subtropical lifestyle.

  • October 2023: Community engagement to seek input about project area.
  • Late 2025: Release final concept plan.
  • 2026: Planning and procurement.
  • 2026-2027: Commence early works and construction (subject to weather conditions and approvals).

Further stages of the Pallara Open Space Network Corridor project are subject to future funding allocations, citywide priorities and development agreements in the area.
