We’re making changes along St Pauls Terrace, between Quarry Street and Gotha Street in Fortitude Valley, to make it safer for everyone.

Benefits
  • Improved safety for all road users.
  • Improved connectivity for people walking and riding through the intersection.
  • Improved intersection operation.

Works will include:

  • installation of new traffic lights to manage all turning movements at the intersection
  • a new pedestrian crossing facilities on all approaches to improve safety and accessibility
  • installation of new kerb ramps, signage and line marking.

This project is proudly funded by the Australian Government’s Black Spots Program.

  • October 2025: Project introduction.
  • November 2025: Early works.
  • January 2026: Construction starts.
  • May 2026: Project completion.

During the works, you may experience: 

  • increased noise, truck movements, low level vibration and dust 
  • light from mobile light towers and flashing vehicle lights 
  • changes in traffic conditions, including minor traffic delays, reduced speed limits and temporary lane closures. 

Traffic management and signage will be onsite to direct people walking, riding and driving.
