Toombul Road at St Vincents Road Congestion Busting project - Virginia
Council is upgrading Toombul Road at St Vincents Road in Virginia to reduce congestion.
We're completing works to improve congestion improvements at Toombul Road at St Vincents Road in Virginia.
Our Congestion Busting program aims to improve the performance of Brisbane’s road network, helping people get home sooner and safer on roads that have higher volumes of traffic.
This project will include:
- extending the northbound right turn lane from Toombul Road into St Vincents Road
- constructing new road pavement within the extended lane
- installing associated line marking, including right turning arrows
- removing and replanting 2 trees
- minor turfing.
Works started from early April and were expected to be completed by late May 2025. Due to unforeseen site conditions, the project is now expected to be completed by early July 2025, weather and site conditions permitting.
Works will continue to be undertaken between 7pm to 5am, Sunday to Thursday, weather and site conditions permitting.
These works are required to be undertaken at night when traffic volumes are lowest, to ensure the safety of workers and road users and to minimise disruption to the road network.
If you live in or are travelling through the area, you may notice:
- increased noise, dust, vibration and vehicles
- changed traffic conditions, including footpath and lane closures, and reduced speed limits
- traffic controllers and signage onsite.
