Changed traffic conditions for Brisbane to Gold Coast Cycle Challenge 2026

The following roads will be closed:

• Melbourne Street, between Merivale Street and Grey Street
• Grey Street, between Melbourne Street and Ernest Street
• Glenelg Street, between Grey Street and Merivale Street

The following traffic changes will also be in place:

• Grey Street will be closed in the south-eastbound direction between Peel Street and Melbourne Street
• The intersection of Hope Street and Melbourne Street will be closed
• The intersection of Grey Street and Ernest Street will be closed

Diversions will be in place and clearly signed. 

Access to Russell Street will be permitted between 3am and 5am and again between 7am and 8am under the direction of traffic controllers. 

Traffic controllers and signage will be in place to assist motorists, pedestrians and public transport users.

Motorists are advised to allow extra travel time, use alternate routes where possible and avoid the area during the event.
