Changed traffic and parking conditions in Bowen Hills for EKKA 2026

Road closures

There will be eastbound parking lane closure on Gregory Terrace, Bowen Hills, between Bowen Bridge Road and Anderson Street from 7am Monday 27 July to 11pm Friday 31 July.

The following roads will be fully closed from 1am Wednesday 29 July to 10pm Thursday 20 August:

• Gregory Terrace, Bowen Hills between Costin Street and Exhibition Street 
• King Street, Bowen Hills between Gregory Terrace and Machinery Street 
• Alexandria Street, Bowen Hills between Gregory Terrace and St Pauls Terrace.

The following roads will be closed from 1am Wednesday 29 July to 10pm Thursday 20 August:

• Westbound half road closure on Gregory Terrace, Bowen Hills from Costin Street to Anderson Street
• Single eastbound lane on Gregory Terrace, Bowen Hills from Warry Street and Costin Street
• Exhibition Street, Bowen Hills from Gregory Terrace to St Pauls Terrace becomes a Southbound one-way street.

The following roads will be closed 1am Saturday 1 August to 11:30pm Monday 3 August:

• A single Westbound Lane on O’Connell Terrace, Bowen Hills between Bowen Bridge Road and Lanham Street
• Hold and release on Sneyd Street, Lanham Street, Tufton Street and Brookes Street, Bowen Hills. 

The following roads will be closed from 6am Saturday 8 August to 11pm Sunday 16 August:

• A single westbound lane on O’Connell Terrace, Bowen Hills between Bowen Bridge Road and Lanham Street
• Hold and release on Sneyd Street, Lanham Street, Tufton Street and Brookes Street, Bowen Hills. 

The following roads will be closed from 5am to 8pm Sunday 9 August:

• Single westbound lane closure on O’Connell Terrace, Bowen Hills between Lanham Street and Bowen Bridge Road
• Contraflow on O’Connell Terrace, Bowen Hills between Lanham Street and Brookes Street
• Hold and release on Sneyd Street, Lanham Street and Tufton Street, Bowen Hills
• Eastbound half road closure on Campbell Street, Bowen Hills from Bowen Bridge Road and O’Connell Terrace.

Parking changes

Various parking changes will be in place on the below streets throughout this period. Signage will be at each location.

Parking conditions will temporarily change to ‘No Standing Tow Away’ during this time at the following streets:

• Gregory Terrace between Brooke Street and Costin Street
• King Street between Gregory Terrace and Machinery Street
• Alexandria Street between Machinery Street and Gregory Terrace 
• Machinery Street between King Street and Alexandria Street
• O’Connell Terrace (Westbound), Bowen Hills between Brookes Street and Brisbane Showground Gate 4
• Costin Street (Northbound), Bowen Hills between Gregory Terrace and Machinery Street. 

Parking conditions will temporarily change to ‘Authorised Vehicles Only’ during this time at the following streets:

• Gregory Terrace (Westbound) Bowen Hills between to Brisbane Showground Gate 1, Costin Street, and Anderson Street
• O’Connell Terrace (Eastbound), Bowen Hills between Tufton Street and Brookes Street 
• Alexandria Street between Machinery Street and St Pauls Terrace 
• O’Connell Terrace (Westbound), Bowen Hills between Lanham Street and Brisbane Showground Gate 4.

Parking conditions will temporarily change to ‘Disabled Parking only’ during this time at the following streets:

• O’Connell Terrace, Bowen Hills between Brookes Street and Brookes Street and Brisbane Showground Gate 5
• Costin Street (Southbound), Bowen Hills between Gregory Terrace and Machinery Street. 

Parking conditions will temporarily change to ‘Taxi zone’ during this time at the following street:

• Costin Street (Southbound), Bowen Hills between Gregory Terrace and Machinery Street. 

Parking conditions will temporarily change to ‘Passenger 2 Min Loading Zone’ during this time at the following streets:

• O’Connell Terrace, Bowen Hills between Lanham Street and Brisbane Showground Gate 5
• Gregory Terrace, Bowen Hills between RICC Loading Dock to Brisbane Showground Gate 1.

Traffic controllers and signage will be in place to assist motorists, buses and pedestrians.

Diversion routes will be in place, with all detours and diversions clearly signed on the day.
