Planned Burn Karawatha Forest
A planned burn is scheduled to take place at Karawatha Forest, between Wallaby Track, Banksia Trail, Wallum Trail and Brushtail track in Karawatha on Tuesday 27 May, weather permitting.
The burn will start at approximately 9am and continue into the early evening.
The Wallaby Track, Dianella Track, Banksia Trail, Wallum Trail and Brushtail Track will be closed for the duration of the burn and may remain closed for up to two weeks after the burn.
Smoke may impact local residences and settle in surrounding areas overnight.
Brisbane City Council staff will be on site for the duration of the planned burn to ensure the safety of the area.
Council planned burns are conducted in a manner sensitive to the welfare of wildlife in the area and are conducted only in suitable weather conditions.
