Changed traffic and parking conditions for Bridge to Brisbane 2026
Temporary traffic and parking changes will be in place across parts of Murarrie, Eagle Farm, Hamilton, Albion, Newstead and Bowen Hills for Bridge to Brisbane 2026 on Sunday 13 September 2026
The annual event includes a 10 km course starting at 6am from Queensport Road, Murarrie, and a 5 km course starting at 10am from Kingsford Smith Drive, Hamilton, with both events finishing at the Brisbane Showgrounds, Bowen Hills.
Temporary road closures, lane closures and parking restrictions will be in place from 2pm Saturday 12 September to 1pm Sunday 13 September.
Key impacts include:
- Road closures and lane reductions along sections of Queensport Road, Lytton Road, Kingsford Smith Drive, Southern Cross Way, the Gateway Motorway Bridge, Inner City Bypass and surrounding local streets, with closures commencing from 2am.
- Changed traffic conditions in Murarrie, Eagle Farm, Hamilton, Albion, Newstead and Bowen Hills between 2am and 1pm.
- Temporary parking restrictions and tow-away zones in affected areas from 2pm Saturday 12 September until 1pm Sunday 13 September.
- Local access for residents and businesses will be maintained where possible, however access may be restricted at various times along the event route.
- Police and traffic controllers will be on site to assist motorists, pedestrians and public transport services.
- Detours and traffic management signage will be in place throughout the event.
Motorists are encouraged to plan ahead, allow extra travel time and consider alternative routes where possible.
As part of the event, the AirportlinkM7 southbound and Clem7 southbound tunnels will be toll free between 4.30am and 9.30am on Sunday 13 September 2026.
