CityCats/Ferries

Brisbane River ferry services will be impacted by industrial action affecting all Riverfire ferry services.

No ferry services will operate from 4am Saturday 5 September to 4am Sunday 6 September.

Customers attending Riverfire are encouraged to plan ahead and consider alternative transport options where possible.

Buses

Council will be providing capacity for an additional 36,500 passenger trips within 90 minutes of Riverfire finishing, on top of normal Saturday services.

This is almost five times the additional capacity provided during the same period for last year’s event.

Between 3.00pm and 6.45pm extra bus services will operate to help customers travel to the event.

From 6.45pm until 9pm, Council will operate M1, M2, and special shuttle services southbound from Cultural Centre platform 2, South Bank platform 4 and Mater Hill platform 2.

Shuttle services will transfer customers to transport hubs at Griffith University, Woolloongabba and Buranda, where customers can connect to their normal bus service, with key services operating at a higher-than-normal frequency.

For customers travelling north and westbound after the event, normal timetabled services are running from Cultural Centre platform 1, South Bank platform 5 and Mater Hill platform 1, with key services operating at a higher-than-normal frequency.

E-mobility

The following locations will have temporary access restrictions:

  • South Bank precinct – restrictions on device access, riding and parking.
  • Brisbane River adjacent walkways in the CBD and Kangaroo Point – speed reductions and parking restrictions.
  • Kurilpa Bridge, Goodwill Bridge and Kangaroo Point Bridge – staged access and riding restrictions throughout the day, no access from 5pm to 9pm.
  • Brisbane CBD Safe Night Precinct – overnight restrictions during event operations.
